Turkic World Summer School Held

As part of the Turkic World Summer School, a delegation of 20 people (including 4 faculty members and 16 students) from the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan visited our university. During the two-day program, on the first day, the Head of the History Department, Prof. Dr. Oktay Özgül, delivered the opening lecture titled “The Historical Geography of the Turkic World.” Following this, Associate Head of Department Dr. Cihan Yalvar presented a talk entitled “The Role and Significance of the Kipchak-Cumans in Turkish History.” Lecturer Ezgi Şahin Sevdi discussed “The Unifying Power of the Turkish Language,” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kaan Diyarbakırlıoğlu spoke on “Relations between Turkey and the Turkic Republics,” and Dr. İshak Turan concluded with a presentation on “Energy and Transportation Corridors in the Turkic World.” At the end of the event, certificates of participation were presented by the department chair and the vice chair. On the following day, the delegation participated in a cultural excursion to historical sites in Yalova.
