An event commemorating the Sarıkamış Campaign was organized by the Library and Documentation Directorate of Yalova University. The event was attended by Acting Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Prof. Dr. Taner Tatar, University Secretary General Hayri Karaca, Yalova University protocol, academic and administrative staff, students, and guests.
The program, which saw high attendance, began with a moment of silence and the recitation of the Turkish National Anthem.
The opening speech was delivered by Acting Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Prof. Dr. Taner Tatar.
This was followed by a recitation from the Holy Quran and a prayer by Mahmut Aydın, a student at our university's Faculty of Theology and also Imam Hatip of the Veysel Karani Mosque.
Continuing the program, Dr. Cihan Yalvar, a lecturer in the Department of History, gave a speech titled “Climate, Will, and Obedience: The Place and Importance of Sarıkamış in Turkish Military History.”
Following the presentation, the Yalova University Mountaineering Club gave a short presentation and showed the participants the “Turkish Flag” that the club members had raised on the summit of the Allahuekber Mountains.
After the speeches and presentations, flowers were presented and the event came to an end.
